Ending Period Poverty
We were proud to join a menstrual health project called “Develop With Dignity” in Uganda. This project solved the problems that keep girls aged 10–16 out of school due to period poverty. We learned that 36% of them didn’t have tampons and panties, and school absences added up to about 441,000 days because of their period time.
Challenging Period Poverty
From 2015 to 2017 in Uganda’s Kumi District—Over 50% aged 12–16 girls drop out before graduation due to period poverty—We donated washable sanitary-towel kits, period panties, and shared period-health education to 4,000 pupils. A survey showed a 45% rise in attendance of school due to this activity. As sponsors, we never regard period as a disease but as a natural, empowering milestone. We continue to supply period items to girls and women in developing countries—Women period should never be a barrier.
